Yet, they seem to be the long-time front-runner in this field. Merges fail, the UI is inconsistent and antiquated, it doesn't seem to be designed in a holistic / coherent fashion, it costs a fortune (relatively), and feels like a buggy slow mess in general. I've had some success and found out some things of interest - BUT Ancestry's whole system just seems like a jumbled spaghetti mess that hardly works. I just started this journey a few months ago. It's a small gesture but seriously, respect peoples' time & effort in helping you out. It's perfectly OK to ask for any info if you're looking for fresh leads, but you can help people to focus their efforts & look at the correct sources if you are more specific.

Will definitely buy and gift again.A subreddit about all things genealogy. From what I have done in regards to family origins, Ancestry is correct in which countries my family originates from. I like how they keep updating new analyses and that you can add to your family tree/chart. I have tried other ancestry/DNA tests but Ancestry still offers the most accurate one. If I do this over again I definitely would! I really liked knowing the percentage of my background for example 35 percent Swedish.

Great test because it also brought me more information on my father’s side which I knew a lot about but now I know a lot more. I took the test first and found my mom’s potential mother and father. I bought one for myself and my mom for Christmas. Potentially relevant documents and records found by Ancestry is a valuable feature although I’ve never purchased any. The ability to link to related trees is a terrific tool that we’re still exploring. My family tree has over 100 members! The DNA test results, which I received in record time, confirmed what I already knew about my ancestry and added a couple more results that I wasn’t aware of, but make sense. I had prepared my family tree before, so entering it into Ancestry was very easy.
